Volkswagen brand is preparing a new model for the 3-row SUVs segment. The Germans are not in a hurry to prepare a full-size SUV, but they have already made great plans to compete with rivals like the Ford Explorer, Nissan Pathfinder, and Honda Pilot – at least conceptually. In Detroit, the premiere of the new Volkswagen CrossBlue vehicle couldn’t leave viewers indifferent. The car that was presented was designed for the North American market. This is a 6-seater mid-size SUV, equipped with a hybrid drive with a diesel engine.

A little walk through the technical characteristics of CrossBlue will help you better understand all the specs of this model. Under the hood, there is 2.0-liter four-cylinder TDI diesel engine of family EA288, tuned to 190 hp, on the front and rear axle there are located electric motors. As transmission the car got a 6-speed DSG gearbox with two clutches and battery – Li-Ion. This good enough for the total 305 hp and 700 Nm, it needs a little more than 7.2 seconds to accelerate to 100 km / h and about 6.7 liters of diesel fuel per 100 kilometers when driving in hybrid mode.

Dimensions of the model are as follows: 4986 mm length, 2014 mm width, 1732 mm high. Even if the concept will reach production the Volkswagen will be lower than the Tuareg model, despite the large size.
