A New Convertible from Opel – Cascada 2013

Opel has finally unveiled its new sedan that was based on the Astra J 2013, but received its own name Cascada, which means “waterfall.” Originally it was planned that this great novelty would be shown at the Paris Motor Show in 2012, but in the end the time of the debut for the exclusive convertible of Opel was slightly shifted. Though this doesn’t lower our impression about this great tuned up car anyhow.

As previously reported, the German automaker has very seriously decided to give the convertible its own name. It was done in order to distance itself from the model line of Astra cars. New car appeared to be a little bigger and more massive in size (its overall length increased by 231 mm, therefore new Cascada is longer than the three-door hatchback Astra GTC), and its equipment is considerably richer. In terms of the design of the model, the company tried to make the appearance of the cabrio as whole and balanced with a raised roof as with the roof set down. It was made out of multilayer fabric and can be raised / lowered by the electric drives taking about 17 seconds including while on the drive, when the speed is 50 km / h.
